Mew | She Came Home for Christmas

How it has taken me so long to share this song I haven’t a clue. I heard it the very first infamous night that I was turned on to “extreme-indie” music and it continues to provide joy through exciting invigorating jumps in it’s melody which holds a soothing peaceful overtone.

The band is a trio from Copenhagen who won both Album of the Year and Band of the Year at the 2003 Danish Music Critics Award; and though it was originally the second single from their debut album (The Triumph of a Man), She Came Home for Christmas also appears on the 2003 award-winning album, Frengers. The band toured with R.E.M. after it’s release.

In February of this year, Mew announced via Twitter (@Mewwire) that they began working on new material and played shows throughout the year.

Earlier this week, the band’s poetically profound guitarist Bo updated Facebook Fans on the process, stating:

“We now gratefully retreat to write the record of our dreams…
There are things going on at the Evil Office. Different fields of skies float above us now and its very interesting. The future is a ball, shapes are all like earth. We will need all Frengers on board. We are building the ship.”

THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS REUNITE?!

We are wondering if the world might be ending tomorrow after seeing the good people of pupfresh uncovering this possible cryptic message from TREOS. Can so many wonderful things happen in one day?

The Receiving End Of Sirens updated their Facebook with this picture. Could it mean they’re getting back together?

Well Said Friend- A Fond Farewell to Pepper Rabbit

In a personal note to friends and fans on Facebook just hours ago, Xander Singh announced that there shall no more “Pepper Rabbit records or shows.”

It doesn’t matter why Pepper Rabbit had to end, that will stay within the people involved. But I have to say that everyone who ever bought a record, illegally downloaded a record, came to or snuck in to one of our shows, I thank you dearly from the bottom of my heart. And to everyone professionally involved with Pepper Rabbit, and to all the bloggers and publications that supported the band, I can’t thank you enough for your support. Not many people take chances on other people, let alone themselves. I never took a chance on myself until Pepper Rabbit. And I am thankful everyday that I’ve learned to take a chance on myself.

And in some great ending words Xander had this message for everyone:

“Support each other, respect each other, and be kind to one another. If you do that, there is no way you can find yourself unhappy. And in the end of the day, your happiness is the most important thing. So be happy. I’m happy. It’s not as difficult as it may seem.”
