Billy Joe’s On-Stage Meltdown Leads to Cancellations

Green Day was forced to cancel a few remaining promotional tour dates after frontman Billy Joe Armstrong had a bit of a tantrum on stage at iHeartRadio Fest in Las Vegas this past Friday.

Apparently the outburst (seen Below) was a result of a sign telling the band that they had “one minute” remaining, to which Armstrong replied:

“You’re kidding me. I’m not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers. Let me show you what one minute fucking means.”Billy Joe Armstrong, Green Day

The singer reportedly will enter rehabilitation treatment (though it has not been specified beyond “substance abuse”), forcing the cancellation of their September shows, which include 4 California appearances.

As of right now, it looks like Armstrong + Green Day will resume their scheduled dates in October, playing the Voodoo Music Festival in Louisiana

This is the second stint from the singer that postponed appearances, as earlier this month Armstrong was hospitalized for “severe dehydration” and thus forcing the band to postpone a concert in Italy.

The band has made the following statement about the iHeartRadio event:

LAS VEGAS, NV - SEPTEMBER 21: (L-R) Drummer T...

“We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances. . . We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.”

We wish Billy Joe the best of luck and a speedy recovery to return to his adoring fans in stadiums worldwide.
