As the number of followers/readers grows, I’d like to share the text from our new About page:
Blue Sky + Hard Rock
Blue Sky is the brainchild of CEO and Editor, Meagan M. Jackson. Los Angeles’ resident Gal Friday, Jackson has been in the front lines of the independent music scene for much of her life. Friends, music lovers + readers join her in protecting endangered music and inspiring unity worldwide through music.
❝Our goal is to bring readers new, high-demand + rare independent music news + media primarily in Indie Rock + Electronic, though we believe the true art and core of music defies genres.❞ -mj
We offer the latest music and industry news along with other comprehensive, easy-to-use features, like our Top Notch Tuesdays a summary of the weeks leading Music Charts and The S.O.S (Schedule of Shows) Concert Calendar powered by Google Calendar + Songkick which lists live music festivals, shows and events, focusing on Southern California but pushing boarders. It is easy to subscribe to get notifications, sync + share.
CONTENT AND FEATURES
Our readers are dear to us here at Blue Sky, and they always have a voice that we appreciate and listen to. This is the beauty behind our user generated content and personal environment.
Users are able and encouraged to submit individual tracks (artists they love + their own), playlists of all topics/genres, news and our favorite – the Top Charts. Charts are simple to generate on popular social networks and services such as Last.fm and Spotify, where we create our weekly playlist Cure Your Case [of the Mondays] found on the Playlist Page.
Other weekly features include We Care Wednesdays [upcoming] where we feature music events and products that support a charitable cause, New + Upcoming Releases updated Thursdays and the Free For All Fridays which offer free legal Mp3 downloads. Saturdays are “Official Unofficial” Submit Saturdays where we update the submitted content from our users.

One thing you won’t find on Blue Sky – reviews! This promotes content to always be open-minded and positive. We believe in creating a free and authentic space for people to take in the music without being swayed in forming an opinion, even subconsciously.
What we do always strive to provide is an open forum for support and music. We love being able to help and give you new resources along side great new music, and we thrive on your feedback! We promise, no new mini-feed or tickers here.
